Charming stone house near the centre with an orchard, facing the Channel islands
This charming stone house awaits its guests in the typical little locality of Portbail with its harbour. It faces south-east and is on a 1000 m² enclosed site, planted with lovely fruit trees. The location on the fringes of the regional nature reserve Marais du Cotentin et du Bessin makes it an ideal starting point for exploring this landscape.
The house was completely renovated in2009 and provides 110m² spread over two floors. It can accommodate four people. The living room consists of a comfortable sitting corner with a TV and a fireplace oven, a dining space and an open kitchen, which is modern and fully-equipped. One of the two bedrooms, with two single bed 90cm wide and its own bathroom with a shower and toilet, is on the ground floor. The 40m² parents’ bedroom with beautiful exposed beams, a double bed and a desk corner is upstairs and also has its own bathroom with a shower and toilet.
In front of the house there is a sitting area with a table and chairs, where you can relax and enjoy the view of the garden with its fruit trees. The house has an adjoining storage room, with a grill available for use. The house has its own private garden (about 1000 m²). A small wooden house, which is also rented, is located in the back of the property and also has its own garden and a terrace. Bicycles can be rented not far away from the house from a bike rental.
Wireless Internet access is available. The house is classified by the tourist board with 3 stars.
There are shops in the locality, whose centre is 500 metres away. It is also just 500 metres to the sea and two kilometres to the nearest beach. From the harbour of Carteret (about 7 km distance) there are boats to the Channel islands of Guernsey and Jersey. There is no ferry connection from Portbail.
