Semi-detached, fully furnished holiday house with a private terrace in spectacular scenery
The two-storey holiday house is located approximately two kilometres northeast of Llangollen in North Wales.
The house was built in 1850 and has only recently been fully refurbished in 2010. It offers a living space of 140 m² and can accommodate up to five persons in three bedrooms.
The ground floor is approximately 70 m² and comprises a lounge with a satbox and flat screen TV, a fully equipped kitchen/dining area, a study space and a drying room. The first floor is accessed by a three section staircase and comprises a large superking master bedroom, a twin bedroom and a small single bedroom. A portable single bed is available for a sixth guest. A large bathroom features a toilet, bath tub, shower and basin. Unlimited WiFi/broadband is included in the price.
The cottage features its own private parking bay for one car with space for two further cars on the public lane below the cottage. A terrace at the front of the cottage features garden chairs. A private sunbathing terrace at the back of the property can be used for barbecues (equipment provided) and sunbathing on two loungers and garden chairs. The garden is completely enclosed and is suitable for well behaved dogs.
The house is over 200 years old and retains some of the original features (exposed beams, quarry tiled flooring, low doorways). A careful modernisation has helped retain the special traditional Welsh cottage character with modern accommodation standards.
Due to the outside access steps and internal staircase, the cottage is not suitable for persons of restricted mobility.
Although the house has that "away from it all" feel, within only a 5 minutes' walk there is a farm shop, a country bistro and a pub/hotel which brews real ale on the premises. The countryside is spectacular with some of the best walking in the United Kingdom. Llangollen is famous for a wide variety of outdoor sports and the Welsh coast is just on hour's drive away to the North or to the West. The city of Liverpool is one and a half hour's drive away and is well worth a day trip.
