Holiday house in the cheese town Alkmaar
The tastefully furnished holiday house is in the famous cheese town Alkmaar, right by the municipal forest and near a playground.
The 130m² on three floors comprise four comfortably furnished bedrooms, accommodating six adults. The ground floor with wooden floorboards has a light living room with a dining space and a modern, open built-in kitchen, equipped with a dishwasher, oven, kettle, coffee machine, small appliances such as a mixer etc. You can find everything you need for cooking, including condiments. The large doors open out onto the garden, inviting you to relax or play. There is a guest WC off the hallway. The upper floors have a modern bathroom with a very spacious shower and the four bedrooms.
You can enjoy the sun already in the morning on the terrace. The garden has garden chairs with cushions and a garden table. You can park your car(s) conveniently right in front of the house on the parking strip. Since it is a pure residents' street, parking is only possible with a visitor card. You will receive the visitor card together with the key on arrival.
Two bicycles can be provided free of charge. All guests, including those who are tall, should feel comfortable here, so all bed covers are extra-long. It is obligatory to rent a laundry package per person, consisting of bed linen, a hand and shower towel. Tea towels for the kitchen and hand towels for the guest WC round off the laundry package. Please note that the house is non-smoking. Pets are not allowed. The house is not rented out to youth groups.
It is a few minutes’ walk (ca. 300 and 500m) to two shopping centres with various shops and supermarkets. It is about a 15-minute walk to the pedestrian zone and the famous cheese market. Alkmaar also has more to offer: quaint little alleys and canals invite you to go for a stroll. The town has various boat rentals and jetties for organised tours, so you can explore the town from the water. All around Alkmaar there is an excellent network of well-developed cycle paths, suitable for trips around the area. It is just a few minutes by bike or car to the ‘Alkmaarder Sea’, a big lake with swimming and water sports. It is only 8km to the wide sandy beach, 30 minutes by bike, km to the dunes at Schoorl, some of which are 3km wide. It is 5km to the popular Beemster region (cheese), which is even a UNESCO world cultural heritage site, with windmills some of which contain museums. You can go on day trips to Amsterdam and the island Texel, or the popular old fishing and trade harbours Enkhuizen, Medemblik and the picturesque little towns of Volendam and Monnickendam. Sports in the area include fishing, a playground, an speed skating rink, canoeing (50 m away), cycle track, indoor and outdoor pool, sailing, tennis courts etc.
