Simple wooden hut for a true nature experience by the lake


The hut enjoys a wonderful location in the midst of nature in northern Sweden, just 600 metres from Lake Kroksjön.

This wooden hut is on a forested site with three other houses. It has a bedroom with a single bed and a bunk bed with mattresses measuring 80 x 200cm. The living and dining room with a kitchen unit provides a sofa, a dining table with chairs and another bunk bed. You can cook on a gas stove. A wood-burning stove provides heating. The hut does not have electricity, nor running water. You can get drinking water from the owner and use water from the well 200 metres away for washing. There is no proper bathroom. You can bath in the lake or in the river, or at Folkets House in Ytterhogdal. There is a dry toilet in a small, separate building 10 metres away.

At the lake you can go fishing, swimming or row a boat. Two parking spaces are provided.

You can discover elk and other wild animals, and enjoy the fresh air of the surrounding forests. The nearest locality is 25km away, where you can find all essential everyday amenities, as well as shops and restaurants.

    “Ich war mit meinen drei Kindern da und wir haben die "Auszeit" richtig genossen. Tagsüber haben wir Ausflüge zu verschiedenen Orten (man muss schon ein bisschen mit dem Auto fahren, wenn man mal was andere sehen will, als die großen Steine, die überall herumliegen) gemacht. Hauptsächlich um in der schönen Natur zu wandern. Oder wir blieben gechillt einfach daheim und haben mal nichts gemacht. Abends wurden Spiele bei dem Schein von 2 Petroleumlampen gespielt. Kein Strom, Wasser aus einer in der Umgebung liegenden Quelle, für die Kinder mal eine ganz neue Erfahrung.

    Anfangs waren die Nächte noch leicht gruselig - man sollte vielleicht in seinem Leben nicht zu viele Gruselfilme geschaut haben, denn das Haus liegt einige Kilometer tief in einem Wald und wenn man dann so alleine nachts da sitzt, fallen einen doch die "schönsten" Sachen wieder ein :-)

    Die Nächte waren zu unserer Besuchszeit schon ziemlich kalt, so dass wir die 2 vorhandenen Kamine regelmäßig in Betrieb hatten. Holz dafür fanden wir in einer anliegenden kleinen, schon etwas baufälligen (aber stilgerechten) Scheune, welches mit einer Axt noch seiner bestimmungsgemäßen Größe zugeführt werden musste. Das Plumsklo lag gleich daneben.

    Einkaufen konnte man gut in Ytterhogdal, manchmal trieb es uns auch nach Sveg, dort hatte man eine größere Auswahl an Waren.

    Man sollte schon darauf gefasst sein, das der mehrere kilometerlange Weg durch Waldgebiet von den normalen Straßen zum Haus bei schlechtem Wetter etwas schwierig zu fahren sein könnte, so dass ein großes, schweres Fahrzeug mit eventuell nicht passenden Reifen Probleme kriegen könnte.

    Der Vermieter wohnt selbst in Ytterhogdal und wurde von uns nur am Tage der Ankunft gesehen. Er machte einen netten und freundlichen Eindruck und hätte sicherlich zu jeder Zeit bei Problemen zur Verfügung gestanden. Die hatte wir zum Glück nicht und genossen so die Einsamkeit und Abgelegenheit in der Unterkunft.

    Alles in Allem ein Ort, den man gerne mal wieder aufsuchen kann. Uns hat der Urlaub dort sehr gefallen.”
