Villa Christina flexible accommodation for up to 3 families or groups of friends

Just a short stroll to the sandy beach, restaurants and village shops, this villa is great for a relaxing stay with your extended family or friends. It is located on its own at the edge of the authentically Greek village of Amaliapoli on the Pagasitic Gulf, making it very private but still with easy access to local amenities. Come and experience life in a beautiful Greek village much appreciated by Greek holiday makers but off the beaten tourist track. Several other nice sandy beaches are within easy driving distance and many archaeological sites. From this location you can visit classical Delphi, the magnificent monasteries of Meteora and the scenic Pelion peninsula.

This villa is designed to provide very flexible accommodation and is particularly suited to families wishing to holiday together but also have some independence. The accommodation is arranged over the first and second floors.
On the first floor you will find the main L shaped living/dining room with comfy sofas and dining table and well equipped kitchen with a full sized cooker and a good selection of pots, pans, crockery, cutlery and glassware as well as a large fridge and microwave. There is also a very large shady balcony where guests often like to eat. There are also 2 bedrooms,each having 2 single beds, a bathroom with basin, toilet and a full sized bath with shower over and also separate cloakroomn with WC and basin. The bedrooms also have balconies. The first floor is fully air-conditioned.
On the second floor you will find two 'suites'. Each has a bedroom (2 single beds) and a living room with table for eating and additional seating. There is a double sofa bed in the living room for 2 guests. The bathroom again has a full sized bath with shower over. In the corner of the living room there is a small kitchen area with fridge, tabletop cooker with oven and grill, and microwave. Pots, pans, crockery etc. are provided. If you are an extended family or a group of friends you can prepare meals independantly if you wish rather than using the main kitchen on the first floor. The bedroom is air-conditioned but the living room is cooled by a ceiling fan.
The two 'suites' share a very large balcony but also have two further private balconies with lovely views over the surrounding olive groves.

In the shady, fully enclosed garden you will find barbecue equipment and tables and chairs for outdoor meals. Amongst the olive trees are some swings for our younger guests. You are welcome to pick the pomegranates, figs and citrus fruit which grow there.
There is parking for up to 3 cars within the garden area.

Please note that the holiday home can only be reached via a road that has not been surfaced (earthen road of 100 metres). You can also park on the tarmac road at the end of the access road if you prefer. There is street lighting along the access road.

There is a folding travel cot available for babies and an extra camp bed is also available, suitable for a child.
There is a laundry area on the ground floor of the house.

There is no rubbish collection from the house and guests are requested to place their rubbish in the large bins found at various locations in the village.

Please note that the villa is offered on a self-catering basis only by the owner and there is no cleaning service whilst you are in residence although additional sheets and towels will be provided.

In the village centre you will find a choice of cafes/bars and tavernas, with excellent fish, some of which stay open all year, all within walking distance of the villa. It also has a bakery, greengrocer' and a general store . The beach is also only 600m away and is sandy and gently sloping - making it very suitable for young children. There is also a children’s playground, 5-a-side football pitch and volleyball court next to the beach. There are 2 beach bars which also provide sun loungers for the price of a drink. In summer Amaliapolis is popular with holidaying Greek families who enjoy this unspoilt area of mainland Greece. You can experience the 'real' Greece here largely untouched by mass market tourism. Sit in the village square looking out over the sea and watch the world go by or relax at the villa enjoying the lovely views whilst your children play in the garden of the villa.

As well as the sandy village beach there are several good beaches within a 30 minute drive dotted around the west side of the Pagasitic Gulf. There are also delightful Greek mountain villages to explore with extensive forested areas for walking. You can also take a boat trip to the island of Skiathos with its famous sandy beaches from the nearby seaside village of Achillion. The area of Magnesia is rich in archaeological sites including Ancient Thebes, Prehistoric Dimini, Sesklo and Dimitras.

Volos is a bustling small city with a wide range of shops, restaurants and its famous ouzeries and offers ferry links to the nearby islands of Skiathos, Alonissos and Skopelos (where Mama Mia was filmed).

The Pelion Peninsula is within driving distance with beautiful scenery - a good day trip. In winter there is even a ski resort on the peninsula! Explore the seaside villages of the Pagasitic Gulf or drive up into the mountains for breathtaking views.

Further afield: If you want to venture further afield both classical Delphi (approx 120km) and the Byzantine monasteries of Meteora (approx 180km) make fascinating excursions as does the lesser known but stunning archaeological site of Dion (approx 170km). It is also possible to visit Vegina and Pella near Thessaloniiki for those who are keen on archaeology.
