58 km to the north from Rovaniemi, lake Alajärvi 25 m (length 3 km, width 600 m), deep beach, hard sand bottom, own boat, pier.
Log cabin (stone-built ground floor) on two floors, built in 2005. On the upper floor, living room with sofa bed, kitchen, bedroom (folding door) with 1 bed (width 140 cm), covered porch. On the ground floor, sauna (electric sauna stove), washroom/WC, living room with fireplace, bedroom (folding door) with double bed (width 140 cm). 2 televisions. In addition, PlayStation 2 console with some games, gas grill, and mosquito trap (so-called mosquito magnet). Water to the cabin comes from the spring.

Lakeside sauna with steam room and fireplace room. 1 bed in the fireplace room. Lakeside sauna is renovated in 2020. The sauna has a shower in the steam room, electric light and electric heating. In the fireplace room, there are electric hot plates and a refrigerator.
The lakeside sauna is available from the 1st of May to the 30th of September.

You can rent the hot tub from the owner for additional price by separate agreement. Price 200€/1-4 days and 300€/5-7 days. Caretaker fills the hot tub up and begins to heat it. Customer takes care of further heating and can use the hot tub during the whole rental period (water won't be changed). During winter the customer takes care of that it doesn't freeze and after usage empties it. Cozy cabin by the lake. Electric outboard motor and 5 hp outboard motor for rent. Also, possibility for renting fishing rods, jigs, ice drill and other fishing gear. Yard games, dart board, croquet, Finnish throwing game Mölkky and badminton court.

Limited amount of firewood available (approx. 1 m³). If the reserved amount of firewood is not enough, you can get more fuelwood from the guardian for an additional fee.

Guided trips to the wilderness can be asked from the guardian, also in English.
State owned hunting areas nearby. Small game permits can also be purchased from the local hunting club (Suopan Erakot).
Meltausjoki fishing area 13 km (see destination 2561 Meltausjoki, ).
Rovaniemi 58 km, Ounasvaara 60 km, Arctic Circle and Santapark 65 km. Levi 128 km.

A deposit of EUR 150 will be charged on arrival (has to be paid into the owner's bank account).

    “Wer Ruhe, Natur, Abgeschiedenheit, Idylle und friedliche Einsamkeit sucht, ist hier genau richtig!
    Wir haben in unserer Winterwoche (2 Erwachsene, 2 Kinder 4+7 J.) viel Spaß beim Schlittenfahren, Eisangeln, Saunieren, Spielen und Iglobauen gehabt.
    Wer massentaugliches Entertainment, breite Restaurant-Auswahl und ausgebaute Infrastrukur sucht, der sollte sich etwas anderes suchen.
    Im Abstand von 100-200 m stehen links und rechts jeweils noch 1-2 weitere private (Ferien-)Häuschen, also insgesamt eine angenehm isolierte Lage.

    Das Objekt ist mit dem Auto gut erreichbar (auch im Winter perfekt geräumte Straßen/Wege), die nächste (kleine) Einkaufmöglichkeit ist 18 km/15 min. Fahrt entfernt, die nächsten großen Supermärkte in 60 km/45 min. Entfernung.
    Es herrscht so gut wie kein Verkehr auf der entlegenen, etwas oberhalb des Hauses entlang führenden Straße (im Winter 2-3 Autos am Tag), sodass wir die hügelige, mit geplättetem Schnee bedeckte Straße perfekt als Rodelrennstrecke nutzen konnten.

    Das Haus ist gut beheizbar (Fußboden- und Elektroheizung) und gut isoliert, sodass auch bei -30°C innen alles wohlig warm ist.
    Es handelt sich um ein typisches Wochenend-/Sommerhäuschen, dass anscheinend vor wenigen Jahren zu einem kleinen Ferienhaus ausgebaut wurde. Davon zeugt das etwas verwinkelte Erdgeschoss mit Kamin, die recht steile Holztreppe ins lichte, offen gestaltete Obergeschoss und die moderne, naturnahe Ausbauweise oben (viel Holz). Einzig die Falttüren zu den beiden Schlafzimmern könnten ein Upgrade vertragen, aber sie stören auch nicht.

    Alles ist gepflegt und sehr sauber.

    Die Ausstattung ist sehr gut, angenehme Betten (keine durchgelegenen Matratzen), zweckmäßige Schränke, ebenso zweckmäßiges Bad (Waschbecken, Toilette, Waschmaschine, offen Dusche und Sauna) und voll ausgestattete Küche (Herd, Geschirrspüler, 2-Komponenten-Tief-/Kühlschrank, ausreichend Besteck, Geschirr, Gläser (auch Wein-), Bretter, Töpfe etc. - nur eine Mikrowelle ist nicht vorhanden). Außen gibt es einen Gasgrill.
    Im Sommer kann man noch mehr nutzen, z.B. das Boot und die zweite Sauna in der kleinen zusätzlichen Hütte am Seeufer, aber da wir im Winter hier waren, können wir dies nicht weiter beurteilen.

    Es gibt digitale und ganz klassisch analoge Spiele, die genutzt werden können.
    Man merkt, dass dies auch ein Ort ist, an dem auch Kinder herzlich willkommen sind, denn neben den Spielen ist auch anderes Zubehör wie Schlitten, Schaukel und Trampolin vorhanden.
    Unabhängig davon wird sich hier Groß wie Klein wohlfühlen!”
