Holiday House in Canhas with Private Parking

The holiday house is in the countryside, on the sunny south-west coast of Madeira at an altitude of 250 metres, on the cliffs to the west of Ponta do Sol. The house is quietly situated on a cul-de-sac.Quietly situated wooden house right on the Madeiran coast, an ideal starting point for exploring the beauty of the island and experiencing local life

The ground-level holiday house is built entirely of wood, insulated against the heat and cold by double walls. The bedroom has two single beds next to each other and mosquito nets are available. In the corridor there is a cupboard room and there is storage space for suitcases. The bathroom has a shower and WC. The big, light living room with a panoramic window has a tea corner with a little stereo system (CD, MP3, radio) and a dining table with chairs. The panoramic window front allows plenty of daylight into the big living room. The well-equipped kitchen unit provides kitchen cupboards, a sink, an electric stove with a ceramic hob, a fridge with a freezer compartment, a coffee machine, a kettle and a toaster, cookware and tableware, cutlery and glasses, as well as tea towels. Bed linen and hand towels are also provided.

In front of the door you can find a veranda and a beautiful garden, each with garden furniture, a parasol and a good barbecue (firewood is provided). There is a parking space next to the wooden house for your rental car. The site is enclosed and partially fenced. The view of the blue sea from the house and garden is unobstructed.

The rustic wooden house is ideal for holidays in touch with nature. A portable radiator is available during the colder season.

The surrounding fields are cultivated by older farmers or are abandoned. During the day, falcons and seagulls fly over the land, while at nights crickets chirp and owls hoot. At night you can admire the magnificent starry sky. It is barely a half hour’s walk to the beach along a romantic, but challenging stepped path. It takes about seven minutes to get there by car. Ponta do Sol is an idyllic little place with many restaurants and two supermarkets, petrol stations, banks, a pharmacy and bakeries. It is a half-hour walk away, or ten minutes by car. The nearest two restaurants are within a seven-minute drive. There is a little minimarket a kilometre away. Travelling retailers come past the house every day selling bread, meat, fish, vegetables and fruit. Eggs from free-range hens are delivered to the kitchen by the owner.
