Large and modern holiday apartment on the ground floor

This in 2017 renovated holiday apartment in a Harz holiday house enjoys a quiet and very charming location in the highest mountain village, Braunlage-Hohegeiß, right by the hiking trail near the forest, the Brockenbahn and the beautiful forest swimming pool with a wonderful backdrop.

The non-smoking holiday apartment is renovated and well-maintained, measures around 100m², is generously proportioned and can accommodate eight people plus a baby. It has plenty of light and owing to the layout it provides ample space for several people. The modern built-in kitchen has a dishwasher, a coffee machine, a kettle, an egg boiler, a toaster and modern crockery for 12 people. The big dining corner has three tables. The living room provides sofas, a flatscreen TV (ca. 100cm), free wireless Internet access, a conservatory extension with sofas and a cupboard double bed. There is a little bedroom with a narrow double bed, a big bedroom with a wide double bed, a bunk bed, a travel bed and a changing table. Due to a water damage, the apartment was completely renovated in 2016/17. The floors, all carpets and all couches are new. Also, the bathroom has been completely redesigned and tiled and now offers a shower in 100 x 100 cm with flat entry, a vanity and a hanging toilet.

If there are more than 8 people, then it is also possible to book a studio apartment (no. 711875) right next door for up to three people. Then you have the ground floor to yourselves and an additional bathroom.

You can use a big coffee garden and lawn with loungers, a large grill area, affording a wonderful view of the mountains in the distance. There is also a big playground for children.

The renovated non-smoking house is on a quiet cul-de-sac by the hiking trail and near the forest. You can relax completely here, but there is also a lot to discover and experience. It is an Eldorado for mountain bikers, with direct trails into the mountains from the doorstep, as well as for motorbikers. Hohegeiß and the surroundings have wonderful curves, with the Südharz route, Kyffhäuser route etc. but beware that these curves are addictive! We can provide tools for use free of charge. For mountain bikers and motorbikers a crate of beer is provided free of charge for the grill area for 4-5 people.

The accommodation is close to the cable car to Wurmberg and the narrow gauge railway to the Brocken at 1143 metres. The skiing piste and cross-country trail can be accessed from the doorstep on skis. It is about 150 metres to the sledging piste. The locality lies entirely on a mountain with a wonderful southern Harz climate, with plenty of sunshine and little fog, with lovely mountain meadows and a fantastic mountain view into the distance. In the sunshine it is warm straight away. There are many kilometres of hiking trails affording extensive views. Hohegeiß has a heated forest swimming pool (for a fee) with clear, clean water and a beautiful backdrop.

    “Wir waren über Himmelfahrt im Harz und waren in dieser sehr schönen Unterkunft. Wir waren 8 Personen mit 2 Kindern. Die Wohnung ist sehr geräumig und gut aufgeteilt, sodass jeder seinen eigen Platz und Raum hatte. Das Außengelände ist super! Großer Garten, toller Blick, Grillplatz, Schaukel und Rutsche für kleinere Kinder. Die Wohnung ist mit allem ausgestattet und uns hat es an nichts gefehlt! Die Besitzer sind sehr freundlich und ortskundig und können tolle Tipps geben.
    Vielen Dank für alles, wir kommen wieder! Grüße aus Hamburg”

    “Die Gastgeber waren sicher nett, aber die Begrüßung viel sehr kurz und schnell nebenbei aus, uns wurde nett aber mit Unterton gesagt vor allem die Kinder sollen unbedingt die Schuhe auf dem Flur ausziehen, sie bringen ja am meisten schmutz mit...
    In der Wohnung stand überall Rauchverbot, leider Rochen all unsere Sachen nach alten Rauch, im Flur an der Garderobe roch man es noch sehr das es mal eine raucherwohnung war. Das Interieur ist doch schon in die Jahre gekommen. Das 140cm breite Bett ist total durchgelegen und quatscht bei jeder Bewegung und hat meinem Sohn rückenschmerzen bereitet. Es wirkte alles im ganzen etwas schmuddelig. In der ganzen Wohnung ist ein Teppich und darunter bestimmt Dielen die total quatschen, vor allem im Schlafzimmer, dort ist es auch sehr schwer die Tür zu schließen, da der Boden nach oben kommt und die Tür total schleift. Von der Ausstattung her war es aber gut, gerade in der Küche. Der Garten ist auch schön und gerade für Kinder sehr einladend.
    Aber würden auf keinen Fall mehr dahin fahren.”

    “Positiv: Die Wohnung war sehr gut ausgestattet. Für eine Großfamilie oder ein Wochenende mit Freunden ist die Unterkunft optimal geeignet. Der Vermieter ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Hohengeisist ein wunderschöner Ort, so dass man auch ohne Schnee die Umgebung genießen kann. Und bei Schnee ist der Rodel- und Skihang gleich in der Nachbarschaft erreichbar.”
