Charming, big country house with two patios, in a rural location on the silver coast, ideal for a holiday with family or friends

This big and charming holiday house, built in the 1950s, is just a few kilometres from the beach, between the little town of Obidos and Peniche on the silver coast of Portugal. It is in a quiet and rural location, along a road with little traffic. It is ideal accommodation for a relaxed holiday with the whole family or with friends.

The 150m² two-storey country house was restored comprehensively by the owners in 2013 and can accommodate eight guests. It brings together the old elements of a typical Portuguese country house and functional lines and modern residential comfort. The 100m² ground floor has a bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchen and a big, spacious living and dining room. The bedroom has a double bed and the adjoining bathroom has a shower and WC. The modern kitchen with an adjoining dining space is fully-equipped with an induction hob, microwave, coffee machine, fridge and dishwasher. The big living room provides plenty of space, but still appears cosy owing to its clever layout. A beautifully curved stairway leads to the 50m² upper floor, to the other three bedrooms and the second bathroom, which also has a shower and WC. The master bedroom has a double bed. The second bedroom has two single beds and the third bedroom with its big bunk bed is the children’s room, to which another bed for a child can be added.

The furnished outdoor area was also redesigned during the restoration. There are patios in front of and to the rear of the house, with plenty of space to relax. Everyone can find a cosy and shaded little spot under a parasol, or you can sit together and grill. There is a convenient third bathroom with a shower and WC outside on the patio, so you can refresh yourself on hot days. You can park right in front of the house.

Cable TV and wireless Internet access are available, along with tourist information, maps and bicycles, which can be hired locally at a supplementary charge.

There is a little shop near the house where you can buy Portuguese products such as wine, beer, coffee, olive oil or jewellery. It is about five kilometres to the nearby beaches, which are popular and well-known among surfers because of their waves. There is a golf course in nearby Obidos. It is a ten-minute drive to the beach and to the golf course. If you are sporty then you can cycle there.

    “Een mooi , heel smaakvol huis , modern ingericht, met voldoende ruimte en licht.
    Heel proper, goede bedden,praktische badkamers,goedwerkende douche, alles werkte en was in prima staat!
    De eigenaars van de woning, waren supervriendelijk -en behulpzaam!!

    Enige opmerking: Het huis blijft te vochtig binnenin., alle materialen bleven vochtig: vb.natte washandjes, jassen... en ook geen verluchting in huis, wat dit vochtprobleem niet ten goede komt, de houthaard doen branden kon het vochtniveau niet naar beneden halen.

    Houthaard was Supergezellig en brandde prima, een lange zetel daarbij in de buurt zou een plus zijn.
    Keukengerief Ok, een aardappelstamper en 1kookpot extra is het enige wat we eventueel gemist hebben.”

    “Ein sehr schönes Haus: hell, sauber, freundlich, bei der Einrichtung hat man sich sehr viel Mühe gegeben, alles passt gut zusammen - "ganz viel weiß". Saubere Bäder, prima Betten, zwei "Draußen"-Möglichkeiten vor sowie hinter dem Haus. Ein Kamin, falls es mal etwas frischer wird. Auf eins bitte achten: Im Angebot stand, dass eine Waschmaschine vorhanden ist. Dies ist nicht der Fall ! Für alle Sportfreaks und Wellenreiter: man kann die Boards bequem vor der Haustür in dem Vorhof lagern.”

    “Wie auf den Fotos zu sehen ein TOP Haus mit moderner, vollständiger Ausstattung. Die sehr nette Besitzerin ist Architektin und hat diese Hause mit viel Liebe zum Detail restauriert, erweitert und modernisiert. Die Schlafzimmer sind ausreichend groß, mit einer Ausstattung von IKEA liebevoll eingerichtet. Das Wohnzimmer hat nur ein Sofa für zwei Personen. Wer sich also mit mehreren Personen im Haus aufhalten möchte könnte hier Probleme bekommen. WLAN mit sehr guter Übertragungsrate ist vorhanden. Beide Bäder mit Dusche, Waschbecken, WC. Heißes und viel Wasser jederzeit verfügbar (das hatten wir schon anders...). Die Küche (der erweiterte Anbau) ist sehr geräumig und voll ausgestattet (inkl. Mikrowelle, Spülmaschine ect. alles Gängige vorhanden). Daran schließt sich die ummauerte Terrasse an. Tisch, Stühle, Hängematte und ein nettes Sonnensegel - hier kann man es mit einem Buch gut aushalten. Das ganze Haus war tip top sauber (auch da wo man auf den ersten Blick nicht hinschaut :-)) Wir haben uns im September für 10 Tage hier sehhhhr wohl gefühlt! 1+. Das Haus liegt ca. 2km östlich von Serra d'el Rei und 8km westlich von Peniche in einer kleinen Sackgasse in einer kleineren Siedlung.”
