These exclusive guest rooms are in a beautiful old stone house, which was built in 1318 above the substructure halls of the Diocletian's Palace. It borders the remains of St.Mihovil church, the oldest church in Split. The building represent one of the best-preserved antique complexes of this kind in the world, and their function has been to level the Emperor's residential chambers with the rest of the palace. The medieval church of St.Mihovil was built by the first Archbishop of Split and was managed by the Marchi family. Plaza Marchi Old Town - MAG Quaint & Elegant Boutique Hotels used to be a shelter for children, as the Marchi family ran the foundation for the orphaned and poor children. The building was later donated to the town of Split by the family and by the mid 20th century it housed Hotel Salona. Today, Plaza Marchi Old Town - MAG Quaint & Elegant Boutique Hotels returns its original name as a tribute to the family that played a significant role in the history of Split and its citizens. Plaza Marchi Old Town - MAG Quaint & Elegant Boutique Hotels is a monument of the world cultural heritage, as it features the well preserved parts of the west wall and the substructure halls of Diocletian’s Palace, which is the UNESCO world heritage monument. It's an ideal starting point for a walk and experience of the enchanting atmosphere of Split's versatile city centre, or else you can just soak up the sun in one of the many open-air cafes. The location does not require a car, so you can walk freely along the historical streets, feeling the shadow of the past of the ancient city centre in the vicinity of Riva, the famous Split seaside promenade, and extremely well preserved palace of the Roman emperor Diocletian.

There are a total of eight guest rooms, and four room types are on offer: Superior Room with a 140 x 200 cm queen size bed, and two types of Suites with a 160 x 200 cm king size bed. This booking option is for a Superior Room with queen size bed. It is on the third floor of the four storey building. The building is equipped with an elevator. The room includes: air-conditioning and sound-proof walls, designer furniture and amenities such as a mini-bar, safe deposit box, armchair, double anatomic mattresses, work desk, LCD satellite TV, and free Wi-Fi. The modern bathroom is fitted with a walk-in rain shower, hair dryer, toiletries and designer ceramic tiles. The guestroom has harging cables for different types of mobile phones and 2 types of sockets. Coffee, tea, water, pralines, bathrobes and slippers are provided free of charge.



At the very top of the building you can enjoy a communal roof terrace featuring views of the entire city, its historic parts, the sea and the islands, while on the ground floor and in front of the building you can also enjoy drinking your coffee and watching the lively town. Public parking is possible at a location nearby (reservation is not needed) and charges may be applicable.

Once a settlement built by the local farmhands and fishermen and now the city’s tourist hub with numerous konobas (taverns), restaurants, cafés, art galleries and small stores, it is a neighbourhood at the heart of Split where history and tradition are fused together to create an authentic atmosphere at every step. A labyrinth of pedestrian streets winding around several historic churches gradually ascends towards Marjan park-forest, a protected nature reserve dubbed "the lungs of the city" by the locals. Step outside, explore the narrow streets lined with traditional stone houses, and allow yourself to adopt the typically local laid-back lifestyle which Split is renowned for. There is hardly a more pleasant ambiance in which to wander and get lost. A grocery shop is only approximately 50 meters away, while the green and fish markets, as well as the nearest supermarket are 100 meters from Plaza Marchi. The Riva Promenade is 1 minute walk from the property, while the most attractive city beach Bačvice is 10 minutes of walking distance. The Main Bus Station and the Ferry Port are 600 meters away from the property. Split Airport is 22 km away.
