Sant Elmo ist aus einem kleinen Fischerhafen entstanden. Bis heute befinden sich nur zwei Hotels in dem kleinen Ort, dazu einige Appartementanlagen. Im idyllischen Dorf inmitten reizvoller Landschaft sind Ruhe, Entspannung mit verschiedenen Möglichkeiten zum Wassersport, Tauchzentrum, Schnorcheln, Wandern und Radfahren gegeben. Das Naturreservat „Dragonera“ ist per Schiff erreichbar.

Das malerische und ursprünglich gebliebene mallorquinische Dorf, mit einem kinderfreundlichen Sandstrand ca. 5 Gehminuten, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurant’s, hat seinen ursprünglichen Scharm bewahrt. Eine Fussgängerzone lädt auch zum entspannten Bummeln ein.

Sant Elmo liegt am Fusse des Tramuntanagebirges (seit 2011 UNESCO-Weltnaturerbe) mit alten Gebäuden, Wachtürmen und nach Harz duftenden Pinienwäldern. Der mondäne Hafenort Puerto Antratx liegt ca. 10 Fahrminuten entfernt, Palma ca. 30 Autominuten.
