Durch die herrliche Lage des Ortes, eingebettet im Gonnatal, rings mit Wiesen, Berghängen und Mischwäldern umgeben, ist Grillenberg ein lohnendes Urlaubsziel, nur 7 km von Sangerhausen entfernt

Zu allen Jahreszeiten kann man hier seinen Urlaub verbringen. Gut ausgeschilderte Wanderwege mit Bänken und Pavillons laden zu erholsamen Wanderungen ein.

Im Winter können Wanderwege und Wiesenhänge mit traditioneller Ski- u. Rodelausrüstung benutzt werden.
Ein Schlepplift ist für mutige Skifahrer ein besonderer Höhepunkt.
Am Ortsrand befindet sich das Waldbad (Neubau 2019)
