Under the ramparts of the famous medieval town of Carcassonne, the gîte offers you a comfortable stay in an ideal location close to all amenities. Access to the Cité via the little path starts just a few metres from the gîte, and the Place St-Gimer and its church are right next to the gîte. There are plenty of shops in the area, including restaurants, bars, a grocery shop, a tobacconist's shop and a launderette downstairs. The historic town centre (La Bastide Saint-Louis) is just 12 minutes away on foot. There's plenty of entertainment during the summer season (Festival de la Cité, 14 July fireworks). If you're a keen walker or cyclist, you'll find the banks of the Aude very close to the gîte, as well as the Canal du Midi, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Lac de la Cavayère, a great bathing and leisure centre, is just 12 minutes away by car. On site, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Cité from your bedroom windows. Free public parking nearby. This historic house has been completely and tastefully renovated. On the ground floor there is a large living room with a sitting area (sofa and connected TV) and an open, integrated kitchen. On the 1st floor, two bedrooms, each with a double bed (140cm). A separate shower room with shower, washbasin, WC and washing machine and tumble dryer. On the 2nd floor, a large bedroom with a view over the city, with 180 king-size bedding and a small sitting area with TV and armchairs. WIFI connection. Baby equipment available on request. All services included except end-of-stay cleaning (€75 supplement). Air conditioning throughout the gîte.
