Holiday cottage with a gorgeous terrace in a typical Mediterranean garden with a fountain, swimming pool and open fireplace, set over two floors

This very beautiful detached holiday cottage is located in the exclusive residential area of Castell de Montornes close to the famous tourist town of Torredembarra, hence enjoying a quiet setting while at the same time offering good access to all the touristic amenities and entertainment options you would want for memorable holidays. The two attractive towns of Tarragano (approx. 20 km away) and the Catalan capital of Barcelona (approx. 70 km) are also within easy reach.

The chalet’s interior is tastefully designed and equipped according to European standards. The upper floor hosts a large living-/dining area, a generous and light-flooded room with a fireplace. Large glass sliding doors lead to the covered terrace that overlooks the beautiful garden and pool area and features a far reaching sea view. Right next to the living-/dining area is the modern, fully equipped kitchen. Here, you also find the three bedrooms. One is furnished with a double bed and has a shower bathroom with a toilet next door. The two other double bedrooms, one with two single beds and the other with one single bed, are connected by a short hallway and share an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub and shower. There is also a separate guest toilet on the ground floor.

The ground floor boasts a very generous, partly covered terrace, a great place to enjoy your meals and unwind and relax in the sun or shade. There is also a separate guest toilet and a garage on the ground floor.

The outside area offers a generous covered terrace with beautiful garden furniture and a traditional Spanish fireplace where you can enjoy barbecue get-togethers on mild summer evenings. Right next to this terrace, you will find a set of stairs leading up to the gorgeous terrace with a fountain, and from here you can enjoy stunning views over the countryside. The cottage is on a large plot of land with beautiful trees, giant cactuses and plenty of flowering shrubs and potted plants. The pool area is surrounded by lawns. The large, rectangular swimming pool (10m x 5m, 1.60m – max. 2.50m deep) invites you to enjoy a nice cool down. The best place for sunbathing and relaxing are the modern adjustable sun loungers. The spacious premises are surrounded by dry stone walls with a large gate, characteristic of the rural landscape of Spain, allowing you to enjoy absolute privacy.

The pool is good for experienced swimmers only, so supervision of small children is recommended, as we want our guests to be able to enjoy nice carefree holiday.

The cottage is located in the Castell de Montornes residential area. Here, you will find small cafes, a small supermarket and very recommendable restaurants. All in all this place with its attractive, authentic charm is a great base for enjoying long walks, swimming and excursions to Tarragona and Catalonia’s capital Barcelona. Reus airport is only 30 km away and Barcelona airport is about 70 km away. Four km away, the Costa Dorada (gold coast) awaits you with its fine golden sandy beaches and clear blue waters. The lively tourist town of Torredembarra is also less than five km away and offers a great choice of shops and restaurants. Take a stroll down Torredembarra marina at night time, where you find a choice of night clubs, bars and live music venues. Here, you will also find all kinds of water sports on offer and you can go on boat tours along the picturesque coast and to the nearby diving areas. The Club de Golf Costa Dorada 18 hole golf course is a ten minute car drive away.

    “Goed: prima huis, ruim, goede TV (alleen Duitse zenders), groot zwembad, veel zonplaatsen, horren voor de ramen i.v.m. muggen, goed balkon, lekkere ligstoelen.
    Verbeterpunten: deksels voor de pannen in keuken ontbreken grotendeels, het zwembad kan niet goed schoongemaakt worden (veel zand en algen).
    Nadeel: ontzettend veel blaffende honden in omgeving, sleutelbeheerder spreekt alleen Spaans/Catalaans, de beoogde barbecue was er niet, wel een openhaard plek.
    Opmerking: het huis ligt niet in badplaats Torredembarra zoals verondersteld werd, maar in het gehucht Pobla de Montornes (7 km verderop).”

    “Fijn huis. Super rustige buurt. Fantastische tuin. Complete inrichting van huis en tuin. Zwembad is schoon en goed onderhouden. Verhuurders zijn goed bereikbaar via de app. Ze staan klaar voor vragen. Keuken en badkamers zijn schoon. Enige minpuntje is het beddengoed. Het was best fris en er waren niet genoeg dekbedjes. Bovendien waren deze erg dun. Het matras van het tweepersoonsbed is erg dun waardoor je de bodem voelt.”

    “Die Villa bietet himmlische Ruhe und ist trotzdem nur 7 Autominuten vom wunderschönen Sandstrand und dem lebendigen Touristenzentrum Torredembarra entfernt. Wir waren in der Hauptsaison dort und es war immer ausreichend Platz am weitläufigen Strand vorhanden. Die Strandpromenade mit Restaurants und Cafes sowie Sportmöglichkeiten (Surfen, Tretboot, Segeln, Volleyball etc.) ist bestens geeignet für Sonnenbaden, Schwimmen, Wassersport oder einfach einen gemütlichen Sitzplatz mit einem kühlen Getränk in der Hand, um nur die Seele baumeln zu lassen. Das Haus selbst hat ein weitläufiges Gartengrundstück und einen prächtigen Pool, so dass wir dort einfach relaxed und uns gut erholt haben. Im Haus selbst ist alles vorhanden, was man braucht und es ist ausreichend Platz für 5 Personen vorhanden. Ein kleiner Supermarkt sowie 2-3 Restaurants, die ein günstiges Tagesmenü anbieten, sind in Laufweite vom Haus zu erreichen. Das war praktisch für uns, da wir manchmal einfach keine Lust hatten, uns selbst zu verpflegen oder mal schnell etwas einkaufen wollten. Wir haben auch den Außengrill genutzt und selbst gegrillten Fisch genossen. Ein grosser Supermarkt, ich glaube ein Carrefour, mit dem für Spanien typischen Lebensmittelangebot an frischem Fisch, allerlei Meeresfrüchten oder Fleisch, Serranoschinken und Manchego Käse, ist im Orsteil Clara in 10 Minuten mit dem Auto zu erreichen. Dort findet man wirklich alles, was man braucht. Die Region hat viel zu bieten. Für uns waren ein Muß der Freizeitpark Port Aventura, das Kloster in Montserrat sowie die katalanische Hauptstadt Barcelona. Es gibt aber noch viel mehr zu sehen. Daher kommen wir mit Sicherheit nochmal wieder. Danke an die freundlichen und stets hilfsbereiten Vermieter für diesen zauberhaften Urlaub. Dafür geben wir gerne 5 Sterne.”

    “Das Haus verfügt eigentlich über alles was man im Urlaub so braucht. Platz ist für 4-6 Personen ausreichend vorhanden da auch die Gartenanlage mit Pool sehr zum verweilen einlädt. Der Ort selber ist touristisch nicht erwähnenswert hat aber dennoch 2-3 Bars/ Restaurants. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in ca. 5 km Entfernung. Alles in allem sehr bodenständig und angenehm.”
