Each spring there is a gourmet event in which participating restaurants offer a special menu with only dishes based on this rock fish. The best way to see Begur is on foot. On the one hand, there are the old trails (Camins Vells) such as the Camí vell the Sa Tuna and the Camí vell de Fornells, which used to be used by the inhabitants of the city to walk to these bays. There are also two other hiking trails in Begur with medium and high difficulty levels. The Es Quinze Local Trail links the historic center of Begur with the steep coast and leads hikers through forests, along the coastline of Begur to the Aiguafreda. The Gran Recorregut route (GR-92) is more difficult and crosses Begur's coast from Sa Tuna Bay to Aiguablava Beach. There are several ways to reach Begur. Coming from France via the AP7 motorway, take exit 6, towards Begur - Palafrugell. Or exit 9 towards Palamós if you are coming from the southern direction. Girona Airport is 45 km away and Barcelona Airport is 142 km away. The nearest train station is Flaçà at 30 km from Begur and there are buses to Begur departing from Girona, Barcelona or Palafrugell.
