Holiday Residence between the picturesque coastal village Orosei and the sand beach and cristall blue water



The managers of the Holiday Residence Rifugio are the Swiss couple Matthias and Irene Winkler. They live in Orosei, Sardinia, since August 2001. The apartments are built with first class materials and are attractively furnished, with TV, telephone, WiFi internet connection, cooling and heating facilities. Since 2013 we have a pool of 70m3. 6.12.19 After an official inspection our residential pool has been unexpectedly closed. It is currently out of order and the constructor needs to apply some adjustments. We assume that the permit to fix the pool will arrive within this year so that it will be again available until May 2020. The Rifugio is an ideal place for people who like to relax in beautiful surroundings near the sea and the mountains but also appreciate being close to a typical Mediterranean holiday resort. Orosei is a picturesque coastal village situated about an hour’s drive south of Olbia (port and airport). The nearest beach is about one and a half kilometres away. It is a 12 km long stretch of fine sand along a coastline that is full of natural beauty. Restaurants, cafés and shops are within easy walking distance (one to five minutes).



The Gulf of Orosei is said to be one of the most interesting holiday areas in Sardinia. It is most famous for its multi-shaped sandy shores along the coastline, its small coves with dreamy wetlands in the background, but also for its charming mountain regions with their picturesque villages and imposing gorges (see also ‘Activities and Beaches’). For those who have an interest in history Sardinia has a wealth of archaeological sites that show clear, tangible evidence of its ancient past civilizations.



Surrounded by beautiful beaches, canyons and mountains The Gulf of Orosei with its natural resorts “Su Barone” and “Bidderosa” is known as one of the most interesting holiday areas in Sardinia. It is most famous for its multi-shaped sandy shores along the coastline, its small coves with dreamy wetlands in the background, but also for its charming mountain regions with their picturesque villages and imposing gorges. The stunning beaches are among the most beautiful and cleanest in Europe (Caribbean feelings!). Other recreational possibilities are diving, canoeing, trekking, fishing, boat expeditions, archeological tours, horse riding, biking, climbing, quad tours, expeditions into the wild countryside of the island and wine tastings.



Holiday apartment Lungomare

This 70m² three-room apartment for 3-5 people is on the ground floor and includes a 20m² veranda.

It comprises a bedroom with a double bed and a fan, a bedroom with four beds, air conditioning, a bathroom with a shower and WC, a living room-kitchen with a sofa, a veranda by the pool with a view of the exotic garden. It has a fully-equipped kitchen with a fridge, freezer compartment, gas stove, oven, and a washing machine in a communal room. The rooms are tastefully decorated and furnished (see photos, variations possible). A grill is available.

    “Wir empfehlen die Anlage gerne weiter. Die Vermieter haben uns freundlich empfangen und Anlage und Ferienwohnung erklärt. Hilfreich waren die zusammengestellten Tipps zu Ausflugszielen und Stränden in der näheren Umgebung (zielgerichteter und ausführlicher beschrieben als in unseren Reiseführern). Die Ferienwohnung ist sauber und bietet viel Schrankraum und Ablagemöglichkeiten. Die Küchenausstattung ist in Ordnung für eine Ferienwohnung. Eine Kaffeemaschine gibt es nicht; auch Schüsseln oder ein vernünftiges Gemüsemesser fehlen. Das Bad ist recht klein. Dafür ist aber insbesondere das Kinderzimmer groß und - wie das Elternzimmer auch - mit guten Betten ausgestattet. Die Terrasse direkt am Swimmingpool-Pool haben wir in der Nebensaison als Vorteil empfunden. Praktisch fanden wir den Obst- und Gemüseverkauf beim Bauern nebenan. Auch der Supermarkt ist fußläufig erreichbar. Das Auto konnte man in der Tiefgarage unter dem Haus lassen.”

    “I have been 3 weeks in the HRR and I can say it was one of my joyful vacations ever. Winkler’s family gave me the best welcome and made me really feel at home. The Agave apartment was very clean, very comfortable and well-equipped, with a big balcony for a delicious barbecue in the evening. There are many places to visit close to the residence, The sea is the most beautiful sea that I have ever seen, full of different blue colors and with beautiful mountain landscape. Orosei is a beautiful small village, the center is really close to reach, and there are supermarkets and restaurants just 5 minutes walking away. I felt at home and the Winkler family were always with a big smile and taking care of all my necessities. I really enjoyed it and I want to come back to this beautiful holiday place again. Thank you Fam. Winkler for this amazing place for every kind of adventure and relaxation!”
